Do you need one slewing drive with custom pinion requirements within short time? No problem, we can do it. We have the parts in stock and in the time we assemble the unit, set the correct brake torque, add the hydraulic motor, test the unit and arrange the offshore conservation, the custom pinion is produced.

Since this gearbox is placed on a crane which is mounted on deck of the vessel, it can often happen that this yellow beauty is catching a wave with salt water. Therefor the unit is blasted and painted in a 3 layer epoxy paint, after the hydraulic motor has been mounted. In this way all connections are well sealed and protected against corrosion.
​The finishing touch was made by stainless steel breather plug, level glasses and also a type plate made in AISI316.

These screw jacks have a rod end as front attachment in combination with a protection bellow which is not standard and will be used in a pipe coating plant. The units have a stroke of 350mm and double input shaft to be coupled for mechanical synchronization.

Since the screw jack bodies and most parts are available from our local stock, we only need some time to cut and machine the screw to give you a very fast delivery. 

Planetary gearboxes are recognized by their round housing. A planetary gear stage exist of a ring gear, satellite carrier with 3 or more satellite gears and a sun gear. In a standard planetary gearbox with output shaft, the sun gear is normally driven by a motor at the input of the gearbox, which creates a rotating satellite carrier due to the fact that the satellite gear rotates in a fixed ring gear. This rotating carrier rotates either the output shaft in case of a single stage gearbox, or it rotates the sun gear of the next stage.

​Since 3 or more satellite gears are in contact with the ring gear, this type of transmission is able to submit much more torque then a single stage of a non-planetary gearbox. This gives one of the biggest advantages of the planetary gearbox, lots of torque coming out of a relative small and light gearbox. This ends up in a relative low price per Nm and a compact design.

Of course a planetary gearbox also has disadvantages, mainly the thermal capacity. Since a planetary gearbox is able to transmit a lot of torque in a compact housing with lots of gears inside and not a lot of oil, the gearbox gets easily overheated in case of low ratios. For low speed applications you won’t have thermal issues, but at higher speed you probably need to cool the gearbox oil but it also depends on the duty cycle and environmental temperature.

For a big offshore equipment manufacturer we got the request to offer geared motors and linear actuators for a new development of brushing machines for (pipe) tensioners. Since both transmissions are hanging in a tower on an offshore vessel, both can be easily in contact with salt water.

​Therefor we supplied linear actuators, fully made of AISI316 and with IP67M protection class. Even if the geared motors were small with 0.55kW motors, both gearbox- and motor housing were made of cast iron and after assembly, sandblasted and painted in a 3 layer epoxy coating. The output shaft of the gearbox as well as the rain cover on the e-motor were both made in AISI316.
