Aandrijf Technisch Buro has several customers who focus on the design and construction of spud pole systems. A spud pole is a steel pole that moves up and down through a vessel or pontoon, to create the option that the floating system is secured to the bottom of the water. There are different kinds of poles on the market, a very popular one is the telescopic spud pole.

Whether it concerns standard or telescopic spud pole systems, most manufacturers choose a chain driven system of which the sprocket is driven by a planetary gearbox, due to its compact design and high torque. If you need the gearbox to be inline or with bevel input stage, with or without brake and hydraulically or electrically driven, we are the right partner.

Offshore wind turbines are normally placed on large diameter tubes which ends above sea level and are called monopiles. These monopiles are transported on deck of a vessel to the place where they are placed at the bottom of the sea. The handling of these monopiles are often done with a so called ‘monopile spreader’. 

On these huge spreader there are placed sling hoist winches which are horizontally lifting the monopiles in big slings. We are proud that we have been awarded for the supply of 2+2 of these sling hoist winches with double drum function. The winches were designed and manufactured in The Netherlands and are driven by a Dinamic Oil winch drive with an input for electric motor. Each winch has a nominal pulling force of 5.000kg at the 3rd layer and a dynamic peak load of 8.000kg at the same layer and they were certified acc. to DNVGL-ST-0378.
