Aandrijf Technisch Buro will present the Dinamic Oil TD – Torque Detector System for gearboxes at Offshore Energy 2022. The TD system provides a digital gearbox torque signal with less than 2% of error and can be used in many applications to prevent damage and overloads. The sensor can be inserted as an accessory into the intermediate flange. Therefore it will not modify the standard gearbox dimensions or IP class. 

The TD – Torque Detector System:

• Consist of a special intermediate flange that substitutes the standard flange
• Gives an output signal between 4-20mA
• Can be added as an accessory to existing products
• Provides a bi-directional torque signal
• Is available with an electronic card configured for Modbus or CANopen outputs

These awesome 5+1 customized planetary gearboxes will be used on an electric towing winch. The winch is equipped with a ring gear which will be driven by 5 pinions which are driven by these gearboxes.

​The two 2-stage planetary gear units are supplied with an output female spline shaft including a reinforced bearing to support the radial load coming from the pinion. The special input flange and shaft are made to mount a big motor adapter with hydraulic calipers, suitable for dynamic braking. Since motor power is 200kW on each gearbox, the units are prepared to be
used with a cooling system.

Winches are made to move an object by pulling on a rope which is spooled on the winch drum. Basically a winch exists of a frame, drum, rope and mostly a transmission. Of course there are winches that have hundreds of parts to make all required options possible, but they can also be very small and simple, even manually driven. The size of a single winch can vary from a pulling load of less than 100kg up to hundreds of tons. They can be driven manually, by hydraulic motor, electric motor, pneumatic motor or combustion motor. Mostly these motors drive a transmission to decrease the motor speed and increase the motor torque to reach the required line pull.

​Depending on the line pull, numbers of rope layers, application and customer wishes, the drum of a winch can be smooth, grooved or even made with Lebus grooves. The frames of smaller winches are both welded or bolted but for the big winches the frames are almost all welded. Options on winches seem more or less unlimited but common ones are pressure roller, limit switch, encoder, spooling device, load measurement system, double brake etc.

Winches are used for many different applications for hoisting and pulling and depending on the application the design rules, certifications or classifications can be different. Herewith a short list of common winches which is only a small part of all types of winches ever build: Main hoist winch, Boom winch, Tugger winch, Mooring winch, Auxiliary winch, Umbilical winch, Spud pole winch, A&R winch, Traction winch, Anchor winch, Capstan winch, Ladder winch, etc.
