Early February we supplied a bevel helical geared motor for a watermill to generate green energy. This gear unit, produced by i.Mak, has a hollow shaft with reinforced bearings to adapt the high radial load and is equipped with an IEC connected generator. 

For this application we used the IRKP-124, which is a 3-stage bevel helical gearbox with an attached pre-stage to get a total ratio of 1:229. This relatively large ratio was necessary to convert the low speed of the watermill to the ideal speed for the generator to achieve maximum power.

Recently an existing customer was urgently looking for 4 slewing drives. Due to our sub-assembly stock we were able to assemble these gearboxes in our workshop and we built-in other bearings which the application requested. After the assembly of the hydraulic motors and counterbalance valves, we painted the units in a 2 layer epoxy coating in a RAL colour chosen by the customer.
