3-Stage bevel helical gearbox with pre-stageEarly February we supplied a bevel helical geared motor for a watermill to generate green energy. This gear unit, produced by i.Mak, has a hollow shaft with reinforced bearings to adapt the high radial load and is equipped with an IEC connected generator. For this application we used the IRKP-124, which is a 3-stage bevel helical gearbox with an attached pre-stage to get a total ratio of 1:229. This relatively large ratio was necessary to convert the low speed of the watermill to the ideal speed for the generator to achieve maximum power.
