We open doors… even 16-ton ones
For a large industrial hall, Aandrijf Technisch Buro engineered and supplied the complete transmission system for an impressive door weighing approximately 16 tons, measuring over 5 meters in height and nearly 28 meters in width.
The challenge with this project was in the size and weight of the door, combined with the required relatively high opening speed and duty cycle. This required a transmission that was not only powerful and reliable, but also thermally resistant to intensive operation.
Our engineers developed a solution by combining components from several trusted partners:
- 2x SEP-500 screw jacks with stroke length 5300 mm (TR110x16) – from Setec Group
- CFMS-87 helical gearbox with double output shaft, ratio 1:4.12 – Cidepa-Sincron
- Equipped with 15kW brake motor
- 8x flexible coupling PNM-100 – Northon-Trasmissioni
- 12x bearing units UCP 208 – Q-Bearings
- 6x spacer shaft of 4400 mm
The entire drive train was designed to move along with the door. The screw jackss were deliberately oversized relative to the door’s weight in order to increase thermal capacity and ensure reliable, long-term operation.
Aandrijf Technisch Buro delivered the complete system including shafts, couplings and bearing units providing the customer with a ready-to-use solution.
