Complex winch with lots of details

Umbilical winch for Leg Encircling Crane

Not long ago we have shipped a beautiful umbilical winch with a pulling load of 66kN which will be used on a leg encircling crane on a huge windmill installation vessel. Together with a local partner the complex winch, with very demanding details, was engineered,built and tested in The Netherlands.

The winchwill be driven with a 4 stage, Dinamic Oil planetary winch gearbox which was assembled and tested in our workshop in Venlo. The gearbox is prepared to be used with oil cooling system and was supplied with PT100 sensor in the input to monitor the oil temperature. Between the gearbox input shaft and brake motor, a steel flexible coupling with a 3 layer offshore coating was installed to work in this cold and harsh environment.

With a holding force of 140kN on a pitch diameter of 1227mm, this winch had a total weight incl. brake motor of a bit less than 4.000kg and a length of more than 3,3 meters.

When selecting the right coupling, technical expertise is essential. Where a flexible coupling has to absorb vibrations and compensate for misalignment, a gear coupling exceeds in transmitting extremely high torques within a compact design. A disc coupling, on the other hand, is torsionally rigid and without backlash, making it ideal for precision applications such as pumps and compressors. From 3d design to customized transmission

For a large industrial hall, Aandrijf Technisch Buro engineered and supplied the complete transmission system for an impressive door weighing approximately 16 tons, measuring over 5 meters in height and nearly 28 meters in width.

Reliable transmissions for the theatre industry

For a project in the theatre industry, we supplied two mechanically coupled bevel helical geared motors (IRK-153 with hollow shaft Ø120mm from I.Mak), which will be used to drive a winch system of a portal bridge.

ATEX certified gearbox package

For a recent FPSO (Floating Production, Storage and Offloading) ship project, Aandrijf Technisch Buro supplied an ATEX-certified gearbox package designed for safe use in offshore environments.
