Pipetensioner Gearboxes of Pieter Schelte awarded to Aandrijf Technisch Buro B.V.
The Swiss-based Allseas Group S.A. has awarded Aandrijf Technisch Buro B.V. for the supply of 16 planetary gearboxes to be used on the four 500t tensioners of the Pieter Schelte vessel.
The planetary gearboxes with bevel input are exceeding the max. output torque of 1.400kNm and will be produced at Dinamic Oil in Italy. The gearboxes will be supplied with hydraulically lifted discbrakes to keep the maximum of 500t tensioning capacity.
The Dutch-based transmission company is familiar with gearboxes used in demanding offshore conditions and are proud to supply to the new world’s largest pipelay vessel Pieter Schelte.
Delivery of the gearboxes is foreseen for beginning of 2012.
